‘On the sea at Mizumata in Higo Province, Tametomo is shipwrecked in a storm (Higo no kuni Mizumata no kaijō nite Tametomo nampū chii)’ – Amidst the storm, there appears both a dreagon and a sea monster. Tengu swoop in and rescue Tametomo, who is on the point of committing seppuku, his wife, Shiranui, is seen hurling herself into the sea to placate the waves, and his son is shown in the arms of Kihei, who has clambered onto the back of the sea monster.
