Description
Lady Kayo, known in China as Hua Yang, was a magic white fox-maiden renowned for her cruelty and beauty. The text tells the story of her seduction of “King Hanzoku of Tenjiku” who was under her sway until her wickedness caused a revolt against him. Here, she is shown in extravagent ‘foreign’ looking garb, clutching a severed head and pointing an imperious finger.
