Description
Seigen was the abbot of Kiyomizu-dera, who fell madly in love with Sakurahime despite his vows. In order that they could be together, Seigen broke his vows and was expelled from the temple and Sakurahime left her home. This print shows Seigen, after Sakurahime has died, clutching one of her kimono and imagining her.
