Description
A scene from the fall of Shigisan Castle.
Oda Nobunaga besieges his former vassal Matsunaga Hisahide who, seeing defeat is inevitable, sets fire to the castle and commits suicide. He ordered his head destroyed to prevent it from becoming a trophy, so his son, Matsunaga Kojiro, grabbed Hisahide’s head and jumped off the castle wall with his sword through his throat.
