Description
Samanosuke Mitsutoshi, a vassal of Akechi Mitsuhide, looks out over a field filled with ghostly foxfires (kitsunebi). The story in the cartouche describes how Mitsutoshi once rid his friend’s daughter of a troublesome fox spirit. He was able not only to see the ghostly fox, but to attack and drive it off.
